Reported first by Page Six, apparently, the Real Housewives Of New Jersey star from 2014, Jim Marchese, is facing accusations that he refused to pay for his son’s college tuition because of his sexual orientation.

The reality star’s son, the 19-year-old, James Michael Marchese, created a GoFundMe page on the 15th of June, asking for approximately $35,000 to help pay for his schooling at Fairfield University. Reportedly, it cost around $65,000 to pay for room and board, as well as tuition, per year.

On the GoFundMe page, the young man said when his father first found out he was gay, Jim slowly but surely started to sever ties with him until James felt the pressure to act in accordance with his father’s standards. James said his father insinuated that he must date women, and admit to making the choice to be gay.

Thus far, some of the other Real Housewives alums have donated to his cause, including Danielle Staub who gave him $5, and Lisa Vanderpump, who gave him $10. Ariana Madix, however, presented the 19-year-old son of Jim Marchese with $500.

On the other side of the fence, a source who spoke with the outlet claims Jim doesn’t want to pay for his son’s tuition because he has three other kids and he doesn’t want to pay high tuition costs for each one. During a conversation with Page Six today, James said he has worked super hard to gain scholarships at Fairfield.

Apparently, James has encountered difficulty when trying to get a loan, furthermore, his mother, Rebecca Grande, formerly known as Rebecca L. DePeri, isn’t able to get a loan for him either on account of her bankruptcy filing fourteen years ago in October of 2005.

A local news report claims James’ mother, Grande, was accused of stealing nearly $780,000 from clients while she worked as an operator for a title insurance agency ten years ago in 2009. Moreover, she was indicted for stealing money from Erika Farrantan as well as her family seven years ago in 2012.

Getting back to James’ situation, the young man claims he hasn’t spoken with his 50-year-old father since 2018 when Jim first found out that he was gay after reading some of his text messages. Coincidentally, Jim allegedly made homophobic remarks on Twitter following the Kevin Hart Oscars scandal after the comedian joked about not wanting a gay son.
