Just in time for Valentine’s Day, American singer-songwriter Ciara has just released the perfect addition to every mood-setting playlist.
Ciara’s latest release is titled “Greatest Love” and is a powerful profession of love for her husband, Russell Wilson. Musically, it is a smooth, laid back R&B track, reminiscent of Ciara’s greats such as “Body Part”. Lyrically, it deals with her gratitude for her husband, how he helped her in life and the way he makes her feel whole.
“Now it’s you and me against, ‘gainst the entire world (…) / I see our love when I look at our baby girl, I’m a lucky girl “, the singer declares while a sultry beat accompanies every note. “Never change your energy/’Cause only you got what I need“, she then ends up swooning during a chorus that will certainly ring true with every person who has ever been in love.
In an especially personal line, Ciara also thanks Wilson for accepting her son: “Never, ever met nobody real like this / I should’ve known when you took my son as your own“.
“Greatest Love” is sexy and sweet, catchy but still recognizable for who Ciara is. It shows her listeners an artist that is bringing her A-Game, an artist that has fully grasped and developed her sound.

For the creation of “Greatest Love”, Ciara got help by some old friends who have already worked with her on previous records: the track was written by the singer herself with longtime collaborators Theron Thomas (whose writing credits include Miley’s “We Can’t Stop” and Rihanna’s “Man Down”) as well as Jasper Cameron (“Dirrty”). The latter also produced the new track.
“Greatest Love” marks the fourth release from Ciara’s upcoming seventh studio album, following “Level Up”, “Freak Me” and “Dose”. The album is set for an unknown release date. It will be Ciara’s first album released under her new imprint “Beauty Marks Entertainment”.
