BTS has made a record this week.
This week, Billboard announced the most watched K-Pop videos and to everyone’s surprise (well, not really) BTS bagged the first spot.
The band’s MV “Blood, Sweat & Tears” from its second studio album “Wings” became the most watched K-Pop video. It just didn’t become the most watched video in the US but around the world.
There was a heated competition between Twice’s “TT” and BTS’ “Blood, Sweat & Tears” and according to Billboard,
As of publication on Nov. 14, “TT” actually has more views (50.9 million since its Oct. 23 premiere) than “Blood, Sweat & Tears” (50.2 million since its Oct. 9 reveal), but the cutoff date had BTS ahead.
The girl band Twice bagged the second spot. Both the bands are garnering attention in the South Korean Music Industry as well as around the world.
It’s a major achievement for BTS as it’s one of the few K-Pop bands to gain a massive popularity internationally without having any English single. The beauty of music is evident from the fact that more and more people are now checking out music from other countries and genre. That’s why they say that music does not need any language.
There is no such thing as “overnight success”. People think that some artists get fame because they come into limelight overnight. Unfortunately, many people ignore the sheer hard work artists do to achieve recognition. But then, artists have fans to tell the world their stories and struggle.
